Birley Centre Exhibition

Last weekend, our exhibition opened with a Private View on Friday evening, and then 2 full days of visitors over the weekend.

No time or room to take photos of the work – but I will be there stewarding on Sunday 17th so should be able to take photos then.

We are really delighted with the way the exhibition has gone up – we had never had the opportunity to exhibit our work together before.

Comments have been really positive and already we have had 100 visitors. With luck and a fiord wind – or at least no easterly wind – we should get more visitors this weekend.

Do come along – and combine a visit with one to Towner which is right next door – and they have good coffee!

Open: Saturday and Sunday only, through January till January 31st.

Artists Walk & Talk 11.30, Saturday 30 January.

Our First Exhibition!

We are delighted to be exhibiting in our local town of Eastbourne, at the Birley Arts Centre, which is just across the road from Towner Gallery.

It’s a beautiful light and airy space and we will be open every weekend through January. As the Birley Centre is part of Eastbourne College, the centre is closed to the public during the school week.

These show the space with other work in, but we are going to be the college’s first textile exhibition. We are all very excited at how our work will hang together as we are quite different artists, and how it will be received by the town.

We also plan to start a piece of collaborative work, inviting visitors to the gallery to print/stitch/draw/write/doodle on to a small card which we then plan to make a book from. We will be displaying the book, and extending the collaboration, in the gallery we have at the Knitting & Stitching Shows at Alexandra Palace and Harrogate.

We will be posting full details of the exhibition on the Home page of the website, but if you have a question or would like to know more about any of our exhibitions, please use the contact form on the contact page.
