Carly Ralph is mixed media artist, with a background in Textiles. She uses the aesthetics of erosion as a thematic device to express thoughts about the relationship between time and the transforming nature of the elements on surfaces such as fabric metal paper and plastic.
Mundane items, discarded and worn from everyday use, are gathered and placed within a new framework, context and meaning. In terms of format, rhythm and repetition can play a key role. Photography informs much of her work, with specific images selected for exhibition.
